I have worn many creative hats throughout my life; as a self-employed designer, illustrator and art teacher. In recent years, I’ve focused more on my own personal art practice working in my studio, adjacent to my home.
While I enjoy the solitude of creating, it can be lonely, so I regularly open my studio to teach enthusiastic clients and help to support them in developing their own artistic practice.
About my Art
Whatever theme I’m exploring, I always begin with a line of enquiry and follow a narrative from what I see and feel. I reflect on life experiences and personal concerns. Taking photographs, sketching and sourcing numerous images to create a painting, that usually isn’t based in reality, but rather imagined scenes from my mind's eye.
I paint in multiple layers, often in vibrant or deep contrasting colours, a style I’ve develop over many years.
